Griffin Bell Golf Links is a public 18-hole golf course owned and operated by Georgia Southwestern State University. Formerly known as Americus Country Club. This is a very fun and challenging short course, that requires the player to hit every club in the bag and demands them to hit percise iron shots into small elevated greens.
This Course is located right in between Andersonville and Plains, Georgia, the home of President Jimmy Carter. Griffin Bell Golf Links is a 45 minute drive North of Albany, Ga, 60 minute drive South East on Hwy 280 from Columbus, Ga, a 70 minute drive South West on HWY 49 and 26 from Warner Robins, and a 3 hour drive South Hwy 19 from Atlanta.
Brant Fletcher is the golf course superintendent at Griffin Bell Golf Course. He is originally from Dublin, Tx (home of Ben Hogan) and moved to Moultrie, Ga in 1980. Where he graduated from Colquitt County High School. He is married to Kathy Fletcher and is raising a family of three kids. He graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College with an Associates in Golf Course Turf Management. He was previously the first Assistant Superintendent at Glen Arven Country Club. Prior to Glen Arven, he was the Second Assistant superintendent/ Spray Technician at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
